GREEN THUMB SUNDAY - Giant flowered Purple Sage

Well, this picture doesn't do this plant justice, I saw it at the Jordan River Conservancy District water-wise garden(Salt Lake City area), and fell in love with the purple-y red flowers. The foliage is not quite that grey, either. Hope your Green Thumb Sunday is going along swimmingly!

Not so much swimmingly more of a damp drizzle as it hasn't rained for a whole week.I think the way things are going though we will all have to change our garden practices to fit with the weather conditions that are going to change.

It's so hard to capture the true and full beauty of flowers in photographs! But the beauty of that color combination really comes through.

Interesting photo. We sometimes call Texas sage, purple sage, but they are in two different genera. Now I know what real purple sage looks like!

Ooo. I love it. I wonder if it would grow in my garden.
