I read the Twilight series of books, and enjoyed them. I can understand the hype about the movie,
but grew increasingly irritated with the hype about **EDWARD**
Is there such a thing as 'too handsome'?
plus the white skin/fakey face powder look, were just too much.
As if the director is saying 'see, he is SOOO handsome, don'cha know?'
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Although I saw the movie on Friday, and both my 13 yr old and I agree, we thought he was a lot cooler by the end of the movie! (thanks for the tickets, DH!!!)
Sorry these pics are so stinkin' small, my technical abilities are small, too.
One of the fun parts of the movie is that Bella, the heroine, looks
strikingly like a friend of ours!!!! I won't post her pic, but the resemblance is amazing. And she wore a boot on her leg on her wedding day, just like Bella at the prom. Coincidence??? hmmm....
Anyway, two thumbs up for the Twilight movie from our household!

I have not read the books or seen the movie. Is it appropriate for an eleven year old?
hmm. my daughter is 13, and there is a lot of romantic angst. She loved it, and we talked about the dating/romantic idealism/ inappropriate behavior parts - the most that happens is kissing and longing looks, though.
Don't you have boys, though?
And the hero (a 'vegetarian' vampire)/boyfriend comes and watches or cuddles with the heroine while she sleeps. It is all very romantic, but not exactly what any parent would want their kids actually doing, y'know? ..
I was on a plane recently with a 14 year old seated next to me. I couldn't figure out why this little girl, traveling alone, would strike up a conversation with me. Until she spilled the beans and confessed that she wanted to borrow the Vanity Fair magazine I was holding (plentiful photos of Edward inside!)
Anyway.. I beg to differ. :)) I'm a grown up (allegedly) and I thought Edward was pretty cute. hee hee. I haven't read the books but I really enjoyed the movie.
I enjoyed themovie and the book, also, but since I have 4 daughters, (and was a teenager , myself, once) I know who easy it is for girls to love romance for romance's sake, and then make bad choices based on that predisposition towards an unrealistic expectation of dating/boys/etc.
that said, yeah, the books were fun, the movie was great!
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I thought he was cute in Harry Potter!
