Show and Tell Friday - eeekkk!

I am posting early because I'll be out of town for a few days. Head over to Kelli's blog, There is no Place Like Home, to see what else is going on!
So, today I want to show you a little 'treasure' my DH picked up at a garage sale, unbeknownst to me. He then hid this 'pet' in the yard, in one of our flower beds, amongst the Japanese blood grass, to see if he could startle me.
A bit of background, we do live in an area where snakes live - we see them rarely, and most of them are harmless, except for the rattlesnakes. I do try to watch my step in the yard, and have been startled before by one of the cats sneaking up on me. So- a few weeks after this alligator was hidden, I saw it - just the snout, peeking out from the grass- I could tell it was large- (about 2 1/2 feet long) - and knew we didn't have any lizard-y type of animal of this size in Utah. Just the same, it freaked me out, and I started backing away, and yelling for DH, who happened to be in the front yard. He says he knew right away what I was yelling about. Well, he got me good, this time. I have yet to get him back! Any ideas out there?
We decided our plastic pet should help celebrate Easter with us.

That must have been scary, though I wouldn't expect to find an alligator in Utah. I'm glad he was of the plastic variety.

Blessings,
Mary

This is funny! Yeah, your alligator
wouldn't last long in the cold
temps! How about next year, I'll
borrow it to put on my snowbanks!
We need some green here in the
wintertime!! LOL :)

That is so funny! Do you and your husband play "Hide the aligator" regularly? I am being serious. My sister Sharon roseofsharonmay has a fun game that they play. She told about it three weeks ago. They hide a plastic lamb. It's a fun idea.
Cute post. Kathi

ROFL....tho I'd be scared out of my wits for a while [alligators just aren't IN Utah...but wait, someone could have released one of their pets and it grew ---anything's possible!]

I'd cut up the alligator and make him SLIPPERS --using the 'rough' side for his FEET ---and MAKE him wear them to the stores.

Happy Show n Telling ---
Happy Friday.

You two are right up my alley! I love a good practical joke, whether it's hiding in the grass or decorated with Easter grass! It's great to laugh and share these things with our spouses! It's little stuff like this that build our relationships and give us great memories!

I'll have to get back with on how to get even! Frankly, I couldn't wait as long as he had to for that "gotcha" moment!

Of COURSE it could have been a real...Alligator... or something! I would have screamed too. I would love to help you plan the retribution. I love to play "gotcha" Is there any way you could pin or stick something fun to the back of his shirt just as he is leaving to go out? Or, have a bumper sticket made, "I break for alligators and just apply it to the bumper of his pickup truck if he has one. Great fun in Utah!\Nancy

I can relate to finding scary things in unexpected places - my kids used to hide a rubber cockroach in my laundry soap. I was never prepared for it, time after time...
It'll be fun to read about your "pay-back".

NOT a funny joke. I would have had a heart attack or something close to it.

My kids used to have a rubber snake that they didn't try to startle me with on purpose, but whenever I came across it unexpectedly it would give me a start!

I don't have any ideas but I hope you come up with a great way to get your hubby back. :-)

Too funny! Bet the alligator would make a yummy snack of our new kittens.
