Show and Tell Friday - Iris time

Another 'Show and Tell' day ! Head over to Kelli's blog, There is No Place Like Home
to see what is going on today! My show n' tell is about one of my favorite flowers, Irises.
Just a closeup of a white bearded iris.

I don't remember this one being such an odd combo of colors, last year.

This is an early blue mini which I love.

Blurry picture of another bicolor mini.

I haven't figured out how to make the purple color come 'true' in Photo shop, yet. This is a deep purple iris.
I realize not everyone loves bearded iris, they really are an old fashioned flower. But what a show they put on!

Terrific!!! I love iris, and I love all the colors you have in your garden! You did one super duper job for our show n tell items this week.

My Show n Tell is bone china cardinals this week. And especially a favorite...a cardinal music box.

The show n tell is following a set of photos of a tornado that ripped through where my nephew lives!!! I had to post those first since it's family!! So, scroll down.

Happy weekend, and for the Americans, have a safe holiday!

Irises always remind me of my grandma! She had a HUGE patch of them along the side of the yard! Yours are gorgeous! I had some but they quit blooming last year, at least not like before. Maybe it had something to do with the weed kliller I put out? Hmm..probably!

Your flowers are very pretty. My mom always grows lots of irises, and they always remind me of her.

Beautiful!!! I love iris'! I have some posted on my blog from Mother's Day weekend. My uncle grows them! He was dividing and giving away...our lucky day to get some of his lot!

Great post! ~Rhonda :)

Your iris are beautiful. I especially like the purple one. My white minis bloomed a week or so ago, but none of the others have yet. We've had a cold, wet month and that is probably why.

I lost many of my iris when a contractor did some work for us. In fact he trampled many of my flowers. I think I need to transplant what iris I do have, as he threw dirt on them and they are now buried too deep.

Thanks for a beautiful show and tell.

Blessings,
Mary

I love those irises. My sister gave me a wonderful collection of them, in many colors and shades. Unfortunately, some colors have disappeared. Maybe it is a good opportunity to add pieces to my collection :-)
Thanks for sharing yours.

They're just gorgeous! I especially love the bi-color ones. I have a bunch of beautiful purple iris' that were my great-grandmother's. Some families hand down jewels, mine hands down perennials.

Thanks for sharing.
